Auto Insurance in Southeast Michigan
Driving is both expensive and dangerous. Even if you think you are a safe driver, there is no time when you are completely free of accident risks. When these hazards strike, you don't want to suffer a huge blow from the high recovery costs that might beckon. The benefits provided by a quality car insurance policy will help you avoid these ramifications.
Every car owner must buy basic auto insurance coverage in order to register a motor vehicle in Michigan. There are two types of coverage required in Michigan:
Personal Injury Protection (PIP), also known as No-Fault Insurance, can help cover expenses like medical bills, lost wages, or funeral costs after a car accident – no matter who is at fault. There are six PIP medical coverage levels for Michigan drivers, and each is based on a specific amount the driver’s auto insurance company will pay per person, per accident, for an injured person’s expenses under PIP coverage.
Bodily Injury/Property Damage (BI/PD) Liability Coverage, Michigan requires all drivers to carry BI/PD liability coverage, which covers a driver’s legal fees if they get sued after hitting another driver or causing property damage. In Michigan, BI/PD is often abbreviated as 50/100/10, as the lowest coverage limit is: $50,000 for a person who is hurt or killed in an accident, $100,000 for each accident if several people are injured or killed, and $10,000 for property damage in another state.
These low limits are not adequate for most drivers. At One Source Insurance, we make finding comprehensive yet affordable auto insurance coverage easy. Please fill out the form for a simple, effective policy solution, and one of our reps will follow up promptly.
